More than just an adventure company in the Stormsriver Village, we have been deeply committed to upliftment since 1998, employing, training and empowering members of the local community: 90% of our staff is from the area and our Equity and Skills Development Plan has resulted in staff members becoming shareholders (currently owning 48%) as well as progressing to senior management positions within the company. The concept of leading people through the upper canopy of a rainforest first emerged in Costa Rica, where daring biologists innovated new techniques for reaching the forest canopy. Their primary goal was to conduct research on the unexplored ecosystem present in the canopy. This pioneering approach soon transformed into a thrilling form of eco-tourism, granting individuals the opportunity to explore and immerse themselves in a previously inaccessible natural environment.
The inception to realization process of the Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour system was an extensive one, spanning fourteen and a half months. This intricate construction aimed to provide visitors with a safe and breathtaking experience as they journey through the pristine natural setting of the rainforest canopy.
