The "BEST RECOGNIZED AND ACCLAIMED PROUDLY SA MEMBER COMPANY" accolade was awarded to Stormsriver Adventures at the Proudly South African Homegrown Awards 2011 ceremony held at Sandton Convention Center on Thursday evening.

This award honours the companies commitment to excellence relating to job creation , skills development and local procurement with the finalists being nominated by way of a national vote. The winner is adjudicated and decided upon by the Proudly SA board of directors following a stringent due diligence process.

Stormsriver CEO, Ashley Wentworth stated "We are particularly honoured to receive this national award given the fact that one is competing against a diverse range of excellent Proudly South African Companies across all sectors and committed to the principles of PSA. We encourage all companies to employ local, train local, buy local and apply responsible business practices which address the triple bottom line." Wentworth went on to state "In these tough economic conditions I believe it essential that every South African should develop a mindset change in their purchasing decisions by procuring locally produced goods and services. This is the only way we can all contribute to poverty alleviation and ensure a better life for all."

Stormsriver Adventures operate the internationally acclaimed "Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour" based in the rural village of Stormsriver. This Canopy Tour concept has extended to a further five rural locations namely Karkloof , Drakensberg,Magaliesberg, Magoebaskloof and Swaziland creating in excess of 200 new jobs for local communities.
