TSITSIKAMMA CANOPY TOURS

The Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour© is a unique eco-wilderness adventure that takes place in the magnificent Tsitsikamma indigenous rainforest. The first of its kind in Africa, the canopy tour involves traversing from one platform to another along a steel cable suspended up to 30 meters above the forest floor...

Most platforms are located in giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees. The scenery and bird life is spectacular and professional guides provide interesting facts about the forest ecology during the 2½ to 3 hours.

Back2Base6 is a Home Grown Stress Management and Life Skills Consultancy with its roots firmly planted in the Tsitsikamma.

Our Workshops draw from the parallels of Synergy and Interdependence found in all living organisms and raise individual and collective awareness that Interconnection is the foundation of existence. We celebrate our differences and acknowledge that each and every cell in our body, each and every member of our team has a unique and useful part to play in the whole.

We facilitate a process and balance of experiential learning, brainstorming, group activities and exercises, getting up close and personal with nature and fun, interactive games with a serious undertone - enabling individuals and groups to feel connected and creatively respond to opportunities and challenges in a less stressed environment.

Organizational stress often results from faulty communication, lack of clear goals and objectives, inadequate resources, misperceptions, reluctance to take risks and the inability to seek/accept help. Route description:
Discover the secrets of the spectacular Tsitsikamma Indigenous forest. As you enter the forest you will encounter Hard Pear trees, Giant Yellow Woods and other interesting Forest Flora.

Stand next to a giant Outeniqua Yellow wood and feel like a dwarf against this unique creation. You will encounter beautiful Tree Ferns hundreds of years old.

The walk starts and ends at the Stormsriver Adventure Centre in Storms River Village. For most of the way this short walk (2km) traverses through our five star forests.

Route description:
The Tsitsikamma indigenous forest takes you back to a time where the forest was "home" to hunter gatherers and their existence in the forests. Discover how the forest lives and breathe the sounds of birds like the Knysna Loerie and Green Woophoes. You will be amazed!!

The hikes traverse through indigenous forests classified as wet, medium moist and dry High Forest. Four routes have been laid out and been color-coded with yellow (8.09km), red (7.78km) and green (5.09km) footprints giving a choice of walking distances. The routes start at the Stormsriver Adventure Centre in the Storms River Village. On the yellow route you can have a picnic and swim in the Storm river at the Old Bridge picnic site. The hikes are relatively easy and an average of 3km/h can indicate the time needed to complete the various routes.

Ideal for Team building the obstacle course provides a number of diverse challenges!

"Low ropes" includes a number of obstacles at 1 meter above the ground.
"High ropes" provides a series of challenges at 8 meters above the ground.

A total of 15 different obstacles are ideal for facilitated team building which can be tailor made to the groups requirements. Professional facilitation is provided in accordance with the group's outcome objectives. Ideal for corporate team building.
